When I was little, I REFUSED to let my mother purchase dresses that did not twirl, resulting in me having to test drive every single dress I tried on in the middle of the store. I doubt my mom was amused.
Needless to say, that requirement for skirts and dresses hasn’t necessarily gone away so when I saw this Blaque Label Cupcake Skirt on Lulu’s, I was immediately drawn to it and was extremely pleased with how well it fit. Paired with my silk lace tank and necklace from JCREW and Franco Sarto patent wedges, it was the perfect polished outfit for the busy day I had that started with a client meeting, followed by an meeting with the director of a charitable organization my non-profit is donating money too and ending the night meeting up my favorite colleagues from a previous job for drinks!
So back to the twirls. I snapped a picture to show you how awesome this skirt twirls and it came out super cute…except you could see my FULL behind it all it’s glory. Quite humorous for my friend Caroline who so graciously took these pics. So instead of a twirl, I leave you with this curtsy

We often “personal shop” for each other and early last week, Jessica sent Kristina a link to this Collective Concepts Sleeveless Secretary Printed Blouse because she thought it would be awesome on her. Kristina instantly loved the color combination and classic style of the blouse but thought that it was not worth the $78 that Piperlime was charging.
Fast forward to Friday when Kristina was browsing Forever 21’st new merchandise and she was surprised to come across their Abstract Print Blouse that while is a bit more casual style, seems to be the exact same print FOR ONLY $14.80!
Winner of this Faceoff: With a price that’s five times less, it’s hands down, Forever 21, especially because the quality of Collective Concepts products don’t vary much from that of Forever 21. We’ve never even seen a dress from Collective Concepts priced as high as this shirt, so we are a bit perplexed to what Piperlime was thinking! The Forever 21 top is actually be more versatile. By tucking this shirt into a pair of pants or skirt and adding a long gold necklace, it will help give this shirt a more classic styling but because it can be worn as shown with shorts or skinny jeans for a night out, it makes it more worth your money!

This Thursday, Aqua Stop will launch a line of snow and rain boots and shoes at Kohl’s with Jessica Szohr as the face of the campaign. I have been lucky enough to work on the launch of this campaign and even got to meet and get to know Jessica!
While the rain and snow boots, pictured above in the Marilyn (right) and Grace (left) are very fashionable, the rain shoes are what I think are the highlight of this collection. Check them all out:

My personal favorite, The Paula, were gifted to me by my client and arrived just in time for Hurricane Irene this past weekend! I have honestly been looking for a great pair of rain shoes for months now and these shoes fit seamlessly into my wardrobe. I have thrown them on with three different outfits and without even planning, they looked perfect, and I was able to walk around all day in them and still look fab!

You know how you look at your closet and want something “in between” the fancy and the sporty, to throw on for fun weekend festivities? Our Find this week helps to fulfill that need! This Hive & Honey dress is a great transition to fall piece and will look polished topped with a blazer for colder days.
We can’t seem to get enough items in variations of red for fall so the ruby color is is right up our alley. Jessica has this item sitting in her Piperlime shopping cart just waiting for September to hit! While it has been good financially for her to take a breather from shopping in August, this dress is too good to pass up especially since the price tag ($54) won’t break the bank.
