About Sucker for Sequins

Sucker for Sequins, originally ”Suckers for Sequins,” was born out of two best friends’ (Kristina and Jessica) mutual love for fashion and shopping.  Slowly but surely, Kristina started becoming really passionate about the blog and it became an important facet of her life, so co-editor Jessica,  handed over the reigns.   Kristina works in a creative industry so the blog is her own special place to share her love of fashion and capture  outfit creations, occasional DIY’s & great fashion finds and most importantly,  documenting her life.

About Kristina

I was dressed in matching outfits from the day I was born – from the bow on top of my head down to the socks on my feet. My mother used to shop at all of the children’s boutiques in our area and take me on multiple trips to out of town malls to scope out all the different stores in search for unique and on-trend pieces.  So, from an early age, putting together outfits became a hobby to me and was always fun. While some may see it as a burden, I am always excited to put something fantastic together.  My friends often come to me for fashion advice and I love helping them put together the perfect look or go out of their comfort zone a little to be creative in their outfit choices.

Why the obsession with sequins? That, I cannot pinpoint. I don’t know if it’s because I was decked out in sequins starting at an early age for dance recitals or the fact that my mother swears I have gypsy in my blood from my Hungarian background, but for as long as I can remember, I have always had a love for anything with frills or sparkles – and have never been afraid to wear them!

Where I am from: Born and raised in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, PA; currently living in Hoboken, New Jersey and working in NYC.  I knew from a very young age that when I graduated from college, I would move to NYC to pursue whatever career I chose and I am proud that I was able to accomplish this goal.

Where I went to college: University of Pittsburgh (I LOVE my Panthers!) where I became a proud member of the Delta Phi Epsilon sorority

9 to 5 : I work in online advertising and social media.  I LOVE what I do and my knowledge from working in the industry has been a huge help in running the blog.

Favorite places to shop: Macy’s, Bloomingdale’s, ASOS, H&M, Target, Piperlime

Favorite beauty products: Chloé (my tried and true fragrance), MAC everything, Dermalogica skin care products, Paul Mitchell haircare and styling products

Addicted to: Organizing, list making, online shopping, baking, the performing arts, TV, dining out, Dave Matthews Band, trying new recipes, lipsticks and glosses, dancing, queso and tortilla chips, manis and pedis, my friends near and far
