Last Tuesday, my whirlwind continued with a 9am flight out of Chicago back to my lovely little apartment in Hoboken where I hadn’t been since the previous Thursday AM. I was obviously thrilled to be home and not having to lug my monstrous suitcase around but I had to put in a few hours of work, remember to eat and get dolled up because I was off to the ballet with my girlfriends that evening. I was happy that I had an outfit already planned and ready to go from my trip and the nautical inspired shirt worked out so ironically since we were seeing the new, limited time engagement of “Ocean’s Kingdom” with music composed by Paul McCartney. I know the pink cupcake skirt and bun were probably a bit stereotypical like a little girl going to the ballet for the first time but I loved the look none the less!
Stella McCartney designed the costumes for the ballet and let me tell you, it was unbelievable to see the couture-like pieces in motion on the dancers. I smell a Stella and dancewear collaboration soon – maybe with Capezio?!
Outfit details:
Top: Loft
Skirt: Blaque Label via Lulu’s
Shoes: Aldo
Necklace: Jessie James
Lips: Nuance lipstick in Nude
And last but not least, a shot of my girlfriends on the David H. Koch theater balcony on the beautiful night!

Why keep our find each week to one singular item when we come across plenty of amazing items at great prices all the time? We have been feeling a little neglectful of sequins as of late so we bring you our Finds with a plethora of sequin items ranging from $15-$69.
Clockwise from top:
Disco Diva Bag from Francesca’s – $14.99 (on sale)
Kardashian Kollection Sequin Harem Pants from Sears (available in basic black and grey leopard print) – $68.99
Tinseltown Sequin Black Shorts from Lulu’s – $52
Spangle tank from Forever 21 – $24.80
Added bonus: In July we featured Ann Taylor’s sequin front tee as one of our favorite pieces from their fall collection. The price has been WAY reduced and Jessica ordered it this afternoon for only $30! That is a savings of almost $100 on a great sequined top!

When I was little, I REFUSED to let my mother purchase dresses that did not twirl, resulting in me having to test drive every single dress I tried on in the middle of the store. I doubt my mom was amused.
Needless to say, that requirement for skirts and dresses hasn’t necessarily gone away so when I saw this Blaque Label Cupcake Skirt on Lulu’s, I was immediately drawn to it and was extremely pleased with how well it fit. Paired with my silk lace tank and necklace from JCREW and Franco Sarto patent wedges, it was the perfect polished outfit for the busy day I had that started with a client meeting, followed by an meeting with the director of a charitable organization my non-profit is donating money too and ending the night meeting up my favorite colleagues from a previous job for drinks!
So back to the twirls. I snapped a picture to show you how awesome this skirt twirls and it came out super cute…except you could see my FULL behind it all it’s glory. Quite humorous for my friend Caroline who so graciously took these pics. So instead of a twirl, I leave you with this curtsy
