So after shopping and shipping and wrapping came the transporting of gifts, COMPLETE with a rented Uhaul. Can I just say that I have never actually ridden in a Uhaul before and it was quite the experience, and my WGIRLS colleague who drove it was such a pro!
Once we arrived at our location, we quickly set up the presents, treats, activities and Santa’s station to get ready for the kids to arrive. Having a gymnasium this year was pretty fantastic because the kids all got to stay and play and enjoy themselves for a few hours of the day and we didn’t just have usher them through an assembly line like we have had to do in the past. I am so blessed to be involved with an organization that lets me be a part of what the holidays are truly meant for.
The day ended with a few of my closest friends in WGIRLs enjoying dinner together which had not been done in too long a time and then going home and CRASHING! I am completely exhausted after having not really been able to catch up with sleep while attending my own festivities with friends but am off to PA tomorrow where I can hopefully do nothing for a few days. I hope everyone else has the opportunity to give back to others in some way, shape or form this year as well.

This year, the WGIRLS NYC sponsored over 200 foster children through our Hope for the Holidays program. I undertook the job of making sure all of the shopping got done for the children – I mean, who better else? – and shopped for over 100 of the children myself with all of those gifts coming to my apartment to store, and wrap. I hosted a wrapping party at my apartment with a few of the girls and wore this festive ASOS Sweater and red AE jeggings to host in true holiday style
Take a look at the pics below to see all of the prep work and check back later this week for a recap of the event.

Wrapping Party with lots of treats! I spent a lot of time making these delicious sparkling cake balls as a gift for everyone that helped with the process.

All done! For now…

Men have red power ties, us gals have red power dresses!
I recently wore both of the two red dresses I own to celebrate a friend’s restaurant opening (dress 1) and to the WGIRLS NYC Holiday Fundraiser (dress 2). Neither dresses were purchased with the holidays in mind – dress 1 was purchased for when I attended the Red Dress Fashion Show in February of 2009 and dress 2 was purchased this summer when I was extremely excited to see a bandage dress similar to Herve Leger that I could actually afford. I am pretty obsessed with the French Connection bandage dress and hope they come out with a few more styles.
Dress 1: Nanette Lepore (old)
Dress 2: French Connection Spotlight Knit Dress
Update: When Kristina of Pretty, Shiny, Sparkly announced Bloggers Do It Better Red, I knew I wanted to share this post there since my French Connection dress in this post was so popular!
And here are some shots of some of my best ladies that I spent both nights having a blast with!
